In the summer of 2011, international experts were invited to bring the newest information in computer science to USTC student with three courses: Introduction to Computer Systems, Cutting-edge Computer Technology, and Cutting-edge Computer Software and Theory.
1st August, Yale N. Patt, the Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Ernest Cockrell, Jr. Centennial Chair in Engineering, from the University of Texas at Austin, started the course “Introduction to Computer Systems” with “ I have lots of examples ”. In the session, he was also employed as a guest professor, and received the letter of appointment from Chen Huaping, the Executive Dean of school of computer science and technology.
“Cutting-Edge Computer Technology” was taught from 11th July to 15th July by Xiong Hui, the Associate Professor of Management Science and Information Systems Department from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
“Cutting-Edge Computer Software and Theory”, with the 3rd Asian pacific summer school on formal methods, was held at USTC Suzhou Research. Dr Yves Bertot from INRIA, Professor Pierre Casteran from University Bordeaux1 Sciences et Technologie at French, Dr. Chris Hawblitzel from Microsoft Research, Professor Shao Zhong from Yale university who is the Master Chair Professor of ustc , and Feng Xinyu from USTC joined the teaching.
