Recently, the 29th National Database Conference of China (NDBC 2012) was held at Daoxianglou Guest House, Hefei. This conference was hosted by China Computer Federation and University of Science and Technology of China. More than 400 guests from universities, research institutions and enterprises, both domestic and overseas, attended the conference.
Prof. ZHU Changfei, vice president of USTC, addressed the meeting. He reviewed the history behind USTC and NDBC, emphasized the develop plan and support given by USTC in computer science and technology. Prof. MENG Xiaofeng, of Renmin University of China, Secretary-General of Special Committee on Database of China Computer Federation, expressed the appreciation.
Prof. YUE Lihua gave the opening remarks as the chairman of the conference. Prof. CHEN Enhong reported the new research direction and challenges faced in database technique and application. Totally 299 articles were received in this conference and 117 of them were finally accepted.
The closing ceremony was hosted by Prof. MENG Xiaofeng. The Best Paper, Best Candidate Papers, "SA Shixuan" Excellent Papers and Excellent System Demonstration were awarded.
