On 21 August 2012, IEEE Fellow, professor of State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. QIAO Chunming gave a report under the invitation of the School of Computer Science and Technology and was appointed the Master Chair Professor of USTC.
On the morning of August 21st, the Award Ceremony and report were hosted by Prof. XU Yinlong, vice dean of SCST, at academic report hall of SCST. Prof. CHEN Huaping, Prof. HUANG Liusheng, Prof. CHEN Yiyun, Prof. JIANG Fan and other faculty members attended the ceremony. Prof. CHEN Huaping, executive president of School of Computer Science and Technology, presented the Certificate of the Master Chair Professor to Dr. QIAO.
After the ceremony, Prof. QIAO gave a lecture on "Cyber Transportation System: Safety First, Infotainment Second", which enlightened the faculty and students with his excellent speech. Through three subjects of Human-Factor aware Network Protocols, Human-Factor aware High Level Fusion and Integrated Simulation, Prof. QIAO reviewed the development of Intelligent Transportation System, introduced the latest research findings of his team and potential opportunities in this field.
Dr. QIAO Chunming, professor of Department of Computer Science and Engineering of University at Buffalo, majors in fibre network, wireless mobile network and information fusion in Intelligent Transportation System, one of world's best 300 computer scientists and top 10 Chinese computer scientists. He has served as editor for IEEE TPDS, IEEE/ACM ToN and guest editor for IEEE J-SAC, hosted InfoCom, MASS, WoWMoM and now IEEE Integrated Fiber and Wireless Technologies (FiWi) technical committee.
