The evaluation results of 2015 CCF-Tencent Open Fund were recently released, three young teachers from the School of Computer Science and Technology including Liu Qi, Wang Chao and Li Yongkun obtained the sponsorship.
CCF-Tencent Open Fund aims to promote innovation among young scholars. Since its foundation in 2013, nearly 500 young scholars from more than 150 universities and research institutes at home and abroad have submitted applications. Young scholars actively interact and deeply cooperate with each other on this sponsor program. They have obtained more than 50 domestic and international patents and published 80 high-level research papers. Some research results were tested and improved in order to benefit practical applications.
CCF2015 particularly aims to stimulate researchers’ creativity in the domain of Internet communication. Experts invited by the fund studied many factors such as prospect of research project, innovative thinking, application feasibility and team execution ability and finally decided to sponsor 20 projects with this research fund and sponsor 16 projects with Creativity Fund. USTC alumnus Hu Yuchong also obtained sponsorship from the fund.
