USTC get through to the 2015 ACM-ICPC World Final

On January 14th, 2015, confirmed by the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM / ICPC) Organizing Committee, USTC ACM team is nominated the 2015 ACM-ICPC World Final because they got third place in the 39th ACM-ICPC Asia Division Beijing Qualifier. They will go to Casablanca, Morocco, on May 20 this year to start the final pinnacle of competition with over a hundred teams from around the world. This is the third time USTC ACM team are qualified for global finals in history after the year of 2007, 2008.

In recent years, in support of the School of Computer Science, Student Work Department (Division) and the Communist Youth League, UTSC ACM team developed a detailed and thorough development strategy.

 

the squad keep weekly training and regular discussions, create a harmonious and friendly atmosphere to attract players to be actively involved in the hard training; conduct orientation and race events to actively expand the influence of programming to attract strongly interested students to join the team; promote the development of innovation and collaboration capabilities of students and improve the players’ skills to prepare procedures, analysis and solve problems under pressure. Over the years, the School of Computer Science have been taking the ACM / ICPC as an important practice of college students' extracurricular activities in science and technology innovation, and offering continuous support in guidance, personnel, venue, and funds. Up to now, USTC has formed a team of nearly 30-person from computer, information, physics, mathematics, Junior College classes majors. From winning the gold medal of the Asia Division to successfully being nominated World Finals, USTC ACM team is constantly self-transcending, taking great strides forward.

 

ACM / ICPC has been provided worldwide sponsorship by AT & T, Apple, Microsoft, IBM and other famous enterprises. 2014's event attracted more than two thousand colleges and universities from six continents, more than 90 countries and regions. More than 120 teams gained access to the global final through qualifying heats selection, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow State University, Peking University divided the world's top three, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Tsinghua University, won the 6th and 11th.
