The School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST), at University of Science and Technology of China invites applications for multiple positions at all levels in all directions for spring or fall 2016. Exceptionally qualified junior and senior candidates in all research areas are invited to apply. Candidates in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: Theory and Algorithms, Quantum Computing, Security (e.g., cryptography, cyber security, privacy), Internet of Things, Cyber-Physical Systems, Big Data, Machine Learning, Computational Science, Computer Graphics, HCI and Intelligent Interfaces, yet all areas of Computer Science will be considered.

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Mathematics, or a closely related discipline, and must demonstrate superior research and teaching potential. It is preferred that applicants have a demonstrated track record of excellence in research and teaching/supervising at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The school was formally established in 2009. The school currently has over 60 faculty members and is expected to recruit many faculty members in the next several years. The school is in a stage of significant expansion with more resources for both education and research, in terms of new faculty lines, and a new Computer Science and Technology building. We are looking for potential candidates to be a part of the exciting development of the school.

SCST has attracted a lot of support and collaborations from the government, industry, and international academic institutes. It is home to the National High Performance Computing Center (Hefei), the Key Laboratory of Computation and Communication Software of Anhui Province, USTC-Yale Joint Research Center for High Confidence Software, and the Joint Birmingham-USTC Research Institute in Intelligent Computation and Its Applications. Faculty of the school has an established and growing reputation for pioneering the research in several areas of computer science. The School is also proud to provide outstanding undergraduate and graduate education. Many of the leaders in the academic and corporate communities are graduates of the School.

Home to many highly ranked research programs, USTC is one of the top universities in China and is located in the Hefei City. It has convenient high-speed trains to Beijing and Shanghai within a few hours.

(3) 3-5 reference letters, at least one of which must be from a Fellow of IEEE, ACM or AAAS, or other world-known distinguished scientists.
(4) 3-5 representative publications.
